I’m Maya – Your Doula and Cheerleader in Parenthood
Empowering you to make confident and informed choices for you and your baby!

The birth world has always called me!
Growing up in a small, farming village in New Zealand, I learnt early on about the magic of community. The saying “it takes a village to raise a child” has been the cornerstone of my life – and it’s shaped how I approach my role as a Doula!
As a trained birth and postnatal Doula, my passion is to nurture and empower families to make their own informed choices and to feel confident and supported every step of the way. I’m here to hold space for you, offer practical help, and cheer you on as you embrace this incredible chapter of life.
Training & Values
I trained with Developing Doulas (a fabulous organisation!) and align with their ethos of compassion, respect, and unwavering support. My work is always grounded in evidence-based practice – and delivered with warmth, kindness, and a good dose of humour.
I’m particularly drawn to working with families within in the LGBTQIA+ and home birthing communities. I love to support families in creating empowering birth experiences that feel safe, personal, and full of love and joy!

Why I became a Doula
From the start, I knew I wanted to work in the birth world – it’s always felt like a calling. A trip to Ghana with Communitity Action Ghana in 2023 deepened this passion, as I witnessed the beauty of trust in a woman’s ability to birth. That experience, combined with my own community-driven upbringing, fuels my commitment to supporting families here in Oxford.
I’m currently a Mentored Doula, this means that, not only do you get my Doula services at a reduced price, but we both also receive the support of a wonderful and experienced Doula too!
